CAFC Stadium Development
As most of you will know the Club was very successful in obtaining a grant of £381, 879 from the Football Foundation, the UK's largest sports charity and its partner organisation, the Football Stadia Improvement Fund (FSIF).
The award was to redevelop the facilities at Alderbrook by building a new community changing room block (to include six team changing rooms, refreshment facilities and a lounge), add more parking spaces, and to the first team pitch add a perimeter fence, two turnstiles, and two seated stands.
We have also obtained donations of £20,000 from W.D.C., Crowborough Town Council and the CAFC Youth Section. This leaves us with £40,000 still to raise and the Crowborough Town Council have offered to loan us this amount. This meant that we could start to build The Crowborough Community Stadium and this has now happened and the work is coming on at a rapid pace.
Now we have to set about raising the remaining £40,000 so the loan can be repaid. This means that every Section, i.e. Seniors, Ladies and Youth, need to contribute to help move the Club forward. We are planning to hold fundraising events throughout the next few years in order to raise the cash required. This will include football matches, tournaments, marathon running, raffles and even a zip-wire across Bewl Water.
If you can offer a donation, then for tax-payers, one of the most efficient methods of helping is via Gift Aid. This means that for every £7.80 donated the Club can claim back £2.20 from HMRC, making a total donation of £10. If you are a higher rate taxpayer then you will also be able to claim back a further £1.80 from HMRC, giving the Club £10 for a net cost to you of just £6. A slip is available to download so that you can help us now or even put it to one side for when you are more able to donate, maybe after your next lottery win!
Remember this is your Club and you deserve good facilities. This is the first step towards a better environment at Alderbrook and for the community of Crowborough in general.
