 Crowborough Athletic FC is one of only a maximum of 8 clubs in Sussex who can be awarded FA Charter Standard Community Club Status. There will be a maximum of 150 clubs in the country who can receive this prestigious award and CAFC was one of the first, not only in Sussex but in the whole country to be recognised. This status is awarded to clubs that have:
 A Management Organisation
Child Protection Policy and Officers
Qualified Coaches
Codes of Conduct for players, coaches and officials
Insurance
First Aid Qualified Coaches
At least 10 Teams, Youth to Adult including, Boys and Girls Teams and Mini Soccer
A 3-5 year Football Development Plan
Crowborough Athletic FC's 5 year Development Plan aims to grow and develop the club by adding additional Girls only teams and improving facilities including an all weather floodlight pitch in Crowborough and updating the facilities at the Club's Alderbrook HQ which are now nearing completion.
Together with the Sussex FA, Crowborough Town Council, Wealden District Council, East Sussex County Council, Sport England, Football Foundation, FA Charter Standard Secondary School Beacon Community College, local primary schools, and other organisations, the Club aims to raise enough interest and financial support to improve facilities and opportunities for all to play football in the local Crowborough and surrounding community.
